Be A Better You!

So it's a start of a new year and we are almost into the second month of 2018 already can you believe it! I thought, since we have started a fresh, we should have a catch up! I know I reached a lot of you with my first 'Let's Talk" post so I thought I would give another one a go.

Now, this one may not be quite as inspirational or moving as it were because I'm not here to talking about how I'm feeling all the time but I did want to give you a little insight to where I am with the new year!

My year started off pretty rocky I'm not going to lie. I struggle with the constant battle in my head everyday of me wanting to feel a certain way but my head constantly tells me I'm wrong and am not entitled to feel happy or get what I want. Fortunately, new years eve I got talking to an absolutely lovely girl who I could relate to so much it was scary. We spent most of the night chit chatting about our struggles and making each other feel better. Turns out, making new friends is super fun and I love meeting new people all the time. I've never been a shy person, always been confident to stand in front of a crowd or meet new people but leaving school and going straight into a job has boosted my confidence tremendously.

Anyway, with a new chick in my contacts, I didn't feel so alone and/or sorry for myself and we both made a pledge to start the year right! First couple of days were an absolute nightmare with me dragging people into the new year who I should have got rid of a long time ago but after the second week, I was feeling like I was finally on the right track. I was making decisions I wanted to make and doing things I wanted to do, spontaneously! Even the smallest of things like getting a hot chocolate from McDonalds one morning made me feel good! I've noticed a huge change in my personality since this time last year and I owe it all the amazing people who I have let into my life to change me and bring me out of my shell.

Living in the same routine day in, day out was so negative for my wellbeing and I'm making sure I change that for good. I think as much as routine can be, I get really fidgety and bored with the same life for too long. I try to make as many changes in my life as often as possible to make me feel better whether that be saying goodbye to people forever or making a friend for life, these changes can be huge to your future.

I like to look back and reflect on the decisions I've made to really see the progress that I am making. There have been people I have met this year that I wouldn't have met if certain negative events hadn't happened and I think it's good to be able to turn a negative memory or event in your life into a positive. Life is too short to be holding grudges or being angry or annoyed with people in your life. The hardest thing is learning to forgive and being able to forgive others but after it all, it makes you feel like a better person and healthier in mind.

Stop living in the past and start living in the present.

If you are sitting here reading this and finding it relatable, realise that as good as it is to be able to relate with someone, a negative life or thoughts should not be something you can relate to. Make this year and the next and every year after that, the year that you conquer and reflect on to make yourself better and stronger.

Thank you for reading. I hope you are having a great day where ever you are and whatever you are doing!

Much Love,

Jazmine x
