Breakfast at The Goat Shed & a birthday shopping spree! | Weekly Vlog

Getting back into the swing of weekly vlogging again, this weekend we had a jam-packed Sunday.
On the morning of Sunday, we started our day arriving at The Goat Shed in Honingham, Norfolk for opening time where we were surprised to see that lots of people had already beaten us to it and were eagerly awaiting the doors being unlocked.
No surprises from the name but the main attraction of this working farm, farm shop and restaurant is the goat which you can feed and pet and of course with this time of year, the kids have been born! If you choose to sit in the outdoor area for your meal, there is a "goat castle' where the goats tend to run up and play on, amusing you all meal long!
Daniel and I had only eaten here on one previous occasion but we have been itching to return ever since, the food is that good!
The building runs a one way system as it's a relatively open plan restaurant/farm shop. Once we had chosen our table of choice, the waiting staff were really efficient and friendly and not long after we had ordered our food had it arrived on our table.
Our breakfasts of choice were "Eggs Benny" for mum and I, a full english known as the G.O.A.T on their menu for Daniel and dad chose the Poached Eggs on toast with avocado.
To drink, Daniel and I had a latte with vanilla syrup and oat milk which was the smoothest, creamiest coffee I think I've ever had. Daniel even made a statement to say it was "better than Starbucks"!. Mum had a spiced chai latte and dad had a coffee too.
After we had thoroughly devoured our breakfast, we paid up and headed through to the farm shop side of the building. The high ceilings and well laid out produce made for a very pleasurable shopping experience. A lot of the items were local where possible or if not, from small businesses. There was also a range of items made from goat's milk straight from the farm, including soap, hand lotion and more. Through the back of the shop was the butcher counter where Daniel bought a packet of sausages, chipolatas and sausage meat which was all on buy 3 for so much £.
Ready to head off on the next leg of our journey, we bundled back into the car and set off for Springfields Shopping Outlet, Spalding.
From the cafe, this was roughly an hour and 30 minutes' drive, which when you're driving through the open landscape of Lincolnshire, goes by very quickly!
On arrival, the sky was blue and the tulips greeted us. We didn't waste any time before diving straight into the first shop as you enter, Joules.
Springfields has lots to offer, from clothing to fragrance, kitchenware to homeware and food, including multiple eateries and sweet shops!
During our visit, we only checked out only half of the shops, including Joules, Crew Clothing, M&S, SportsDirect, Julian Charles Home, ProCook, Denby and Cadburys. There is so much to offer here and you can easily make a day of it!
All spent out, we headed back to the car to make a plan for late lunch/early tea. Upon doing a bit of research, mum came across a restaurant that was less than 10 minutes away and had 5-star reviews, The Moorings.
A quaint, old-fashioned, riverside pub and restaurant, which was the perfect quiet spot after the hustle and bustle of a busy shopping centre.
We really enjoyed our meals and would definitely return when we're next in the area. Our meals of choice were Spinach & Ricotta Canneloni, Scampi & Chips, Salmon with new potatoes and Burger & Chips. For dessert, Apple & Rhubarb crumble, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Belgian Chocolate Fudge cake.
Once we were back in Norfolk and the car was unloaded, mum and I headed to the stables to feed the ponies for the evening. It's been so nice to get to the stables a few times over the past 4 weeks as my mum has kindly been looking after my boy whilst I get in the swing of taking care of Teddy and working that into my daily routine!
Back home for the evening and I share with you my purchases from the day and the following morning, we have a debrief and a rambling chat!
