What I Got For My 25th Birthday

I asked over on Instagram stories and YouTube whether you'd like to see what I received for my birthday and to my amazement, all those who voted said yes so this week I'm sharing with you all what I was so generously gifted for my 25th Birthday this April.

I have a lot of hobbies and I was fortunate enough to receive at least one thing for each of my hobbies.

Photography / Tech

As you'll know with my more recent regular creating and posting of YouTube videos, I'm spending a lot more dedicated time filming my everyday life and specific things so I was kindly gifted many tech goodies to improve my video quality.

Firstly, I received two Manfrotto tripods, one being the Befree Advanced, and the other the mini Pixi. In my spare time, I'm an equine photographer and hobbyist landscape shooter so investing in a really good tripod has always been on the cards for me so I am absolutely thrilled to have received not only a big, strong tripod to hold my heavy mirrorless camera and large telescoping lens but also a little tripod perfect for vlogging which I'm now doing much more often.

Next in the tech department, I also was given a wireless lapel microphone compatible will all cameras I own, plus my iPhone! I'm really excited to put this microphone to use as it should give me a lot more flexibility when it comes to video making.

I also received a spare battery for my vlogging camera and some paper refills for my HP Sprocket which I use to print little photos for my journal.

Baking

A funny one to include in the mix but I can't tell you how thrilled I was to unwrap this after asking my mum for one and that is a handheld rotary whisk. As we know, everything eventually comes full circle and this little guy is very much back in fashion and I'm looking forward to putting it to use and sacking off the electric whiskers! No more flicked cake mixture in this kitchen!

Gardening

Of course, everyone's aware I'm very much into my gardening this year so naturally there had to be some gardening related goodies in the mix!

Firstly, I received a beautiful Gardening Journal from Wrendale Designs. A gorgeously illustrated ring-bound book with monthly sections to record daily notes, plant profiles, garden sketches and notes. Plus, it comes printed with monthly tasks and seasonal recipes. I'm looking forward to documenting my whole vegetable gardening journey through all mediums this year so this is perfect!

I also received some very useful tools including a Snip-It which is a teeny little pair of pocket-sized scissors with a cap for safety and a set of velcro cable ties which are reusable and gentle on plant stems. These will come in so incredibly useful for my beans and tomatoes.

Lastly, the coolest thing I received for the garden was this amazing, personalised, metal sign for my veg patch. I'm not 100% sure yet whereabouts I'd like my sign to hang so do let me know where you think it would look best.

Clothing

If you watched my YouTube video "What's New in My Wardrobe", you would have seen me mention a pair of longsleeved pyjamas from Chelsea Peers and that I would love to get my hands on a short set and well my wish came true. I was gifted a navy short set and have already worn them and had a great night's sleep.

Books

Of course, it wouldn't be right to have not received any books (have you met me!?) so I was thrilled to receive not one but three Elly Griffiths books part of her Dr Ruth Galloway mysteries collection which are my absolute faves and also a David Blake book which much like the Griffiths books are set in Norfolk, is too.

I hope you've enjoyed finding out what lovely things my generous family gifted me this year, I've been thoroughly spoilt and am very appreciative.

Much love,
