One Last Catch Up Before The New Year

Hello.

It's been over a year, perhaps longer since I did one of these "let's chat" posts. It used to be a regular segment of mine over the years but it's something I've overlooked.

I find myself spending a lot of time on Instagram ogling at the gorgeous Insta feeds some bloggers have created and I get totally bogged down that mine isn't perfect. But I've learnt this year that that's ok. It's not supposed to be. It's supposed to be real, it's supposed to be a reflection of me. Something I think my Instagram account has finally become.

This feeling of "Instagram envy" is actually something a lot of my Insta buddies have told me they struggle with too. I actually had a long weekend off of all social media last weekend and I think it really helped me because returning to it this week has made me feel awful. I don't know why it gets to me so much but it's so consuming! I think that "detox" is going to be a regular occurrence for me from now on.

I've also struggled with knowing who I am, potentially stemmed from the Insta subject previously discussed but I honestly feel a bit confused. I almost feel I have multiple personas? Nothing dramatic but each day I find myself reacting to situations differently to the day before. It's funny, I recently had another photoshoot with Sean Ferries (his website here) and I think I look so different, it threw me. I didn't recognise the woman in the photo. Sean actually said to me he's still trying to capture the "real Jazmine" and that's played on my mind since. What if I don't even know who she is? Have I even become her yet? The mind boggles.

Whilst we're on the subject let me just leave some photos from the shoot here...

On to something more positive perhaps? I've found Country music sings to my soul. And I mean that. If anything has gotten me through this year, it's been Country music. Any mood, I stick it on and totally zone into it. It's the best therapy!

Last thing to discuss, books. Or more particularly, reading. I got totally sucked into my most recent read, "Hunting Evil" by Chris Carter. My word I got through that book. I don't think I've read a book so quickly since first reading The Girl on The Train! It's quite a fast-paced, intense thriller which I'd 100% recommend if that's your kind of read!

I think that's enough discussion for one post!

I'd love to hear from you! I never really interact with you all unless you message me on Instagram so please, comment below and let me know what you've been struggling with, what's pulled you through, what your favourite music genre is and what you've been reading this year!

Have a very Merry Christmas and I'll catch up with you in 2021 baby!

Speak soon!
